Newington EMS has been fortunate to run solely on staffing by volunteers since 1969. To continue to provide quality patient oriented care and service through volunteering, NEMS is always looking for dedicated and professional individuals to join our ranks.

Membership Requirements
Our members are required to ride 24 hours a month, and one holiday shift a year. The Corps operates Monday through Friday 6:00pm to 6:00am, and 24 hours a day on weekends and holidays.

NEMS also provides fire stand-by support and community stand-by services on a 24 hour basis as needed, and will also respond to neighboring towns on an as requested basis.
​​NEMS members respond to
over 1,500 9-1-1 emergency medical calls a year.
